These documents cover the rules, privacy practices, and disclaimers for Orientos UAB's websites (orientos.com, orientos.eu, orientos.science) and our digital tools, calculators, and games. By using our site or tools, you're agreeing to these terms — if that's not for you, please don't use them.

1. Terms & Conditions

Who we are. "The Company," "We," "Our," "Us" — that's Orientos UAB, based in Vilnius, Lithuania. "Client," "You," "Your" — that's you.

Intellectual property. Unless we say otherwise, Orientos UAB owns everything on this site — text, tools, games (EC Pong, Grant Digger), and downloadable resources.

You may: use our site and tools for your own personal or professional work.
You may not: republish, sell, rent, sub-license, or redistribute our content, tools, or code without our written permission.

Using our tools & games. We build these to help Research Managers get things done — please don't try to reverse-engineer, overload, or disrupt them.

Linking to us. Government agencies, educational institutions, and industry associations can link to our homepage, tools, or blog without asking first, as long as the link isn't deceptive, doesn't imply endorsement we haven't given, and fits the context of the linking site. Want to use our logo? Ask us first.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania, and any disputes go through the courts of Vilnius.

2. Privacy Policy

Your privacy is a priority. Here's what we collect, why, and how long we keep it.

What we collect

Standard website data: browser type, IP address (see below), pages visited — the usual, used to keep the site running well.
Contact & account info: if you reach out or register, we collect what you give us (name, email, company, phone) to respond or deliver our services.
Tool & game data: when you use a calculator or game, we process the inputs needed to generate your results. We don't use your project's financial details for marketing.

Analytics & tracking tools we use

We use a handful of third-party tools to understand traffic and improve the site:

Google Analytics — traffic and usage analytics, running separately on each of our tools and games so their data doesn't mix with the main site's.
Google Ads (remarketing) — lets us show relevant ads to past visitors elsewhere on the web.
A session-recording tool — records anonymized visitor sessions (clicks, scrolling) so we can spot and fix usability issues.
Smartarget — powers on-site promo and chat widgets.
Wix Chat — our live chat widget.

Each of these is a separate company with its own privacy practices; the cookies section below covers what they set.

Where your data is processed

Our own tools and apps run on infrastructure based in the EU (Frankfurt). Google Analytics automatically routes EU/UK/Switzerland traffic through EU-based servers and never logs individual IP addresses, by design. That said, some of the third-party tools above — particularly Google Ads remarketing and the session-recording tool — may process data outside the EU under their own terms, since we don't control their infrastructure.

How long we keep it

Our own analytics data (Google Analytics, across all properties) is retained for a maximum of 2 months and then automatically deleted. We don't independently store a separate copy of this data ourselves. Other third-party tools retain data per their own policies, which we don't control.

We don't sell your personal data to third parties.

Your GDPR & CCPA data rights

You can:

Access & portability — request a copy of your data.
Rectification — ask us to fix inaccurate info.
Erasure — ask us to delete your data.
Restriction & objection — ask us to limit or stop processing.

3. Disclaimers

Not legal advice. We're Research Managers, not lawyers. Our guides and tools are for general informational purposes, not legal or financial advice. They're built to be accurate, but they're guides — not substitutes for an official audit or professional consultation. Use at your own risk.

No affiliation. Views on this site are ours alone. We're an independent consultancy, not affiliated with or endorsed by the European Commission or any official EU funding body.

External links. We link to external sites (like the Funding & Tenders Portal) but don't monitor them and aren't responsible for their content or accuracy.

Testimonials. Real experiences from real clients — but every EU project is different, and past results don't guarantee future ones.

4. Cookies Policy

We use cookies to make the site and our tools work — and, transparently, to understand how people use them.

What are cookies? Small files on your device. No passwords or mailing addresses live in them.

Types we use:

Essential (Session) — keeps the site functional, authenticates users, lets you use tools securely.
Functionality (Persistent) — remembers your preferences (cookie choices, language) so you don't repeat yourself every visit.
Analytics — set by Google Analytics, so we can see aggregate traffic and usage patterns. Retained for a maximum of 2 months.
Advertising / Remarketing — set by Google Ads, used to show you relevant ads after you've visited.
Session Recording — set by our session-recording tool, so we can review anonymized usage patterns and fix UX issues.

Your choices. You can disable or delete cookies via your browser settings any time. Disabling essential cookies may break parts of the site — specifically our calculators and games.
